Blame

I knew it was coming, but it still stunned me.

My estranged AH, in an alcohol related wreck last week that injured a family and himself on his way home from work to his brother's (I tossed him out in December after a month of binges), said to me:

"I wish I hadn't been living at my bro's - this never would have happened. I'm not blaming you, I'm taking full responsibility, but if I had been living at home this wouldn't have happened."

Zing! The man has not changed, even after all this.

Those who want to can always find something or someone to blame rather than looking at themselves.

Mmmmm yeah, and if venus was rising in my sign on the day of my birth I wouldn't have been in a relationship with an A! Whatever!

I'm hearing that his mother is blaming his brother for "not supporting him enough" so unfortunately it seems to be learned behavior from the family. Not that it should matter to me but it's kind of interesting to observe the dynamics of it all.

My XAH was so like that. I don't think they even realize that they do it. It's amazing to me how they can place the blame on anything but themselves, always.

Duh.....doesn't matter where he was living or where he was driving too, he chose to drink, he was intoxicated, period.

The craziness is unbelievable. Sorry you have to deal with this.
