Aristo turns 1
Hi All,
Long time no post - Been super busy. But I thought I'd come back here to let you all know that I turned one today.
It's a bloody miracle - 365 days today without a drink.
I had a rocken Birthday meeting today - and had a great time with some other people in Recovery.
A brief synopsis:
I drank for 23 years - daily. Tried to stop 2 years ago after failed relationship, loss of business, lost my house etc - my rock bottom. Couldn't accept I was an alcoholic. Hated AA meetings - full of resentments - Didn't believe in God - Thought I had the answer to everything.
Tried recovery and AA - busted after 6 months for 6 months.
Put myself into rehab - It was in there that 'i got it'.... acceptance.
Have been sober since. Love AA - Am secretary at a group. Have a HP in my life - Got a good job - Getting all the 'things' back in my life. I have people I can call - I have good friends - My family is very proud/understanding/loving.
It's great to be sober

Congratulations!
This is the second thread I have clicked on today. The first was a 30 day kudos and now I see someone else hitting that one year milestone. Everytime I see someone celebrate one day to numerous years in this new and wonderful life, my eyes well up with tears. Sobriety is the hardest thing I have ever worked for but oh, it is sooooo worth it! The life I am living in Recovery is honestly better than any drug of any form that I put into my body.
I just looked at the calendar and today is 2 years and 7 months for me! Not to take away from your glory, just sharing that whether we have 1 day or one million days, today is a cause for celebration for all of us who were fortunate enough to wake up this morning to celebrate life!
