Hi Everybody I am new to this place and these forums, but I would like to know everybody's opinion on this issue. I have been taking T 4's for about 3 months daily. I suddenly ran out and I had some severe withdrawal symptoms. I have to work so checking into a program or place cannot happen. I went to my doctor today and he is going to try and gradually lower my dose on a week by week basis until I am down to very little like T 1's. Just wondering if anybody has gone off of Codiene this way and How did you find it. Was it very hard or helpful and did it work.
Thanks for all the info as I am so scared the withdrawal I had was sooo painful and yucky I can't go cold turkey.:praying

Your doctor sounds like he knows what he is doing, he is weaning you down and that should make everything much easier for you.

well needless to say the gradual withdrawal thing that the doctor set up for me did not work. So tomorrow I enter detox for 8 days. I am super scared and I know it will be hard but It is something I must do for my husband and for myself.
I have to find new ways to cope with things and actually face my problems rather than avoid by using.
Please pray for me as I struggle through the next week.

I had to go to rehab to finally kick narcotic medication. I repeatedly tried to do it myself.

My thoughts are with you.

Well Thanks everybody for your prayers and support. I went to Detox and they sent me away and told me to come back the next day. Well that was today and I thought I could do it on my own. NOT!!! So Tomorrow is another day and I will go back and see if I can get it this time. Wish me luck.
