sorry you're struggling, Scott, but you are not alone , you got us........its that time of the year, a month before spring.....sigh , we got a ton of snow here too....Got anything inspiring to read? Hang in there...
A couple of days ago, I was telling my uncle (sober/AA for decades) my frustration about not being able to get to many meetings. He suggested that I make it a point to call five sober friends on days that I can't make it to a meeting - even just to say hi. For me, when I'm struggling, checking in to SR simply to add my congratulations to people's milestone threads or to read some posts & click a few thank you's helps me stay grounded.
Take care.
Take care.
I feel for ya. Sometimes its real easy to let life get ya down. Being sober doesn't mean that everything will be sunshine and flowers.
But, you ARE sober. It could be worse. You could be drunk, no cell minutes, no car, ...I hope that you are seeing my point. You got us here too..it's good that you posted.
I pray when life gets too much for me, and it helps!
big hugs,
Karen

firstnm....
When I had times like these...I hung onto SR....I had a strong faith...but Isure needed to
share with people here. I was so sick I didn't even go to face to face meetings...
I isolated but quietly found my strength in the forums. And eventually made my way
back to my Program and service work.
You have encouraged me, firstnm..many times. Thank you for that! And "This too shall
pass" is true for you as well. Don't give up..tomorrow is another day..that's not just a
cutesy pie saying..it's true. God is NOT done with you yet......
Prayers,
IO

I understand how you feel about this snow!! Enough already!
Seriously, at times like this when I am finding alot of things to complain about, I need to make out a gratitude list. So, let's start one now, OK?
I'm gonna start with 5 and anyone else, feel free to add to it!
For me:
I'm Clean and Sober
I have a roof over my head, a warm place to sleep and food to eat
My Son, who hadn't lived with me for years, has been back home with me for several months. He's out in the living room right now, yelling every 5 minutes, 'Hey, Mom, do you know this song?" as he plays Guitar Hero.
I'm on this computer site, sharing positive things with others who share my disease and it's comforting to know I'm not a raving lunatic.
I love myself today!

I agree with the others. Stay on here and read and post, vent, whatever.
Pray to your HP if you have one.
Hang in there. It gets better. That's what people kept telling me.

Hey Friend, I'm feeling your pain. Have you every tried meditation, its a trip. The first time i tried it was in a room full of guys at rehab, thought it was a joke. But i have found it to be so relaxing and can take you to your happy place so to speak for some temporary relief.
I like guided meditation because i am new at it and its nice to hear a calming(female) voice, its soothing. I just searched you tube for an example. turn the lights down and turn off outside noise and put on some ambient music if you have some.
