OT-Prayers

I don't usually do this but thought that maybe it might help. I am having really bad anxiety right now. First off I have quit smoking. I have a week under my belt. Secondly, I think that menopause is beating my butt right now. I find myself very emotional right now, very much detached from life. I am eating right, taking vitamins, exercising everyday and trying to have a positive attitude. But the anxiety has been creeping in every afternoon for the past week. I do take Trazadone for it and do not want to take anything addictive or stronger. So if you could just say a prayer that the anxiety will ease for me, I would appreciate it. Hugs, Marle

Sending prayers for you Marle. It must be in the air (or moon - I haven't checked the moon!). I have felt really down all day. Just alot of negative thoughts.
I pray that your sunshine that you have spread to us so many times, comes back to you!
Take a deep breath and close your eyes.
Hugs to you

Praying for you, Marle. Can you find an activity to be occupied with when that time actually hits, even if it was just a nap? Maybe you can "train" yourself to ward it off in time. That's how I got through a really bottomless time, just had to cry through it and train my thoughts/actions to ward off that sliding-down feeling. I'm very jealous that you are through your first week already. They say that's the worst one, huh? I sooo want to quit smoking! Way to go, girl

Marle - congrats first off on the decision to quit smoking, I did it in 1995, after several attempts, I used the nicotine patch. One thing that helped me was when I had a craving, I would inhale DEEPLY through my nose, and let the air out s-l-o-w-l-y...almost as if you are smoking...after doing this a couple two three times, I found that the craving had passed. Even closing my eyes as I did this helped. Hope it helps you and anyone else in *recovery from smoking* - I know it's hard, and depressing, but sending big ((((hugs)))) and prayers your way, you go girl!!!

Marle,
I think the winter is getting to all of us. We need some sun to feel cheerful. I generally like the winter months, but lately I am really feeling glum.

Prayers for your anxiety to be lifted.

Hugs............Lo

I'd suggest exercise - aerobic, like brisk walking or jogging - its good for relief of anxiety and its all a good motivator to keep quit.

Wow, you are an amazing lady and my prayers are going out that you can walk through this and live better as well as living longer.

A hot bath helps me unwind, and also long walks but winter knocks the fun out of that last part.

Just hang in there and know that it WILL get better, it just takes time and perseverance.

Hugs

Sorry I'm late on this, but you are already always in my prayers Way to go on the not smoking...I didn't make it and will try again...want my new apt. to be smoke free!

It WAS a full moon this morning when I got off work and I truly believe it does affect people (working in an ER convinced me!)

Whatever it is, I'm sending extra hugs and prayers!

Marle -

I hope that things are beginning to go better. That overwhelming anxiety is awful. My prayers and love go out to you.

Sending you hugs and prayers. I have anixety attacks, what works for me is taking slow deep breaths while thinking of something that makes me relax. Like sitting on the beach watching the waves come in. By doing this I have not taken the pills the doctor gave me in over a year.
Congrats on the week of not smoking, it must be so hard. You are doing great!!!!!
I know a lot of people who are complaining about feeling down.
Extra hugs to a very strong lady

May your HP keep you in the palm of his hand. He has all the power. My way of coping, (I know I am crazy) but I clean. Tear that closet apart and throw away all the collected junk. You would think that I have the cleanest house in town. Not true. My heart and thoughts go to you.

Congratulations on quitting smoking! That is a terrific accomplishment!!
As for the anxiety, I always make myself a big cup of tea - usually chamomile or peppermint - open all the windows for some fresh air - yes, even if it's 10 degrees - and I call a girlfriend or watch a soap opera. Sounds silly but it works for me.
I hope you are feeling better.
