Can I fold his shirts?

This just gets better and better. This last weekend I get Mr. Sane and Reasonable out of the blue, and then last evening, when I ran in from work and was just freshening up quickly to head out to an NA meeting my AH comes to my part of the house and asks me if I could fold his shirts for him! I kid you not! He is leaving on a trip (I actually, after all these months, get to have some time in my own house in peace) and he's asking me if I'll help him by folding his shirts. I laughed all the way to the meeting! He had no idea I was going to an NA meeting . I have to say, altho it's a huge codie slap up-side the head to do so, I'm tempted to fold the shirts, I'm also tempted to drive him all the way to the airport and escort him on the plane, I just can't wait for a few days in my own home after all these months!

As a friend pointed out, the sad part is, this is his way of being nice to me, offering to let me help him! Now, how could I possibly think of walking away from a man who is so kind and considerate???

Could be but more so it could be an ice breaker. A feel for how things are going.

I can fold my own shirts better then my wife ever will but because I love her so...I let her do it *LOL* hahahaha

Sorry but that just hit me so funny.

and now I think I better fold my own shirts from this day forward.

I wish you didn't live so far away. I'd be nice and let you fold my shirts too.

Best - If you're going to break the ice with your wife after years of neglect, lies and deceit I strongly suggest you try a bit more of a "grown up" version than will you fold my shirts !!! Just my opinion. But, I hear what you're saying, and you are probably right in a way - it still comes down to him trying to be nice by having it all about him and ME showing HIM I'm (still) there for him. He needs to learn to be there for himself, and sadly, he's just not there. And, I needed him to be there for me for years - I fold my own shirts, I load my own car, I wield a drill and paintbrush as well as mops and pans! FYI, I'm not an addict, NA meetings are just part of my recovery, along with Alanon, this board, therapy and reading.

I may be a codie but believe me when I tell you I'd strike a match to those shirts long before I'd fold them. lol

I have to admit, I was thinking this as I read...man, I'd be tempted to pack the whole darn bag, confirm the reservations, carry the suitcase... :rof

Enjoy your time alone in peace!!

Are we spray starching, and ironing before we fold them?

Somehow, I deeply feel this should be done with the upmost care....

(Seriously, I did get a good belly laugh from this one...thank you....)

I think we can get a good shirt folding committee together here. The price for helplessness - airline tickets for all and a weekend in the wine-country, trips to the spa included! I don't think that should be too much to ask! I think we have ALL earned it!

Mine is just coming to an end. My AH comes back from rehab the 14th. Hahaha, and he thinks that is Valentine's present enough for me. He actually said that!! Maybe, I'll even get the offer to do his laundry when he comes home! HAHA!

I've heard that starch, iron & ironing board and tissue paper is great for keeping stuff wrinkle free! Good luck with all that - and happy V day!!!!

I believe it helps to dampen the clothes first, makes for a nicer crease.
