Today's Gratitude Moment
Hey All- So my 9 y/o daughter calls me tonight around 5PM...her mom is sick and can't take her to some activity at her school tonight...she really wants to go. Guess what...I drove over, picked her up...and we went. Her brother, my son, he tagged along too. 30 days ago I would never of been able to do this...I would have been drunk. Worse than that..I probably would have taken her...drunk...driven with her and my son drunk...lurched around her teachers and friends...stinking of alcohol...because I'm a good dad. Yeah right. Today, I simply drove over and we went...no drama, no fear, no hiding...and it was great. THIS is why we try. Thanks.
Rob, that's great news. It's amazing how much we take for granted, but that's what life is all about. I hope you never forget it, cos it's the little things that make the difference (in my mind).
Well done, keep it happening, and thanks for inspiring me to stay sober today,
