Just popping in to say Hi
Just popping in to say Hi
Hi everyone
Thought I would just check in and say hello. I haven’t been on for a while. All is well though and I haven’t been drinking Hurrah! But I have had a few cigarettes Booh! Need to set a date and try that one again. I can live with it though – the drinking is my main focus.
Found it a bit of a struggle in January to be honest but feel much better now again. Days are starting to get a little longer and we are having some sunny days which makes a massive difference for me. I have begun to wonder if I am affected by Seasonal Affective Disorder Syndrome (SADS). I certainly feel much lower in spirits in the winter months. Does anyone have any experience of this?
I am getting a new computer for home next month so should be able to get online more again.
Rooting for you all

Octo!! You & I are in the same "place" and I'm doing better too. Day 28. I used to think the whole SADS thing was ridiculous, but I think I suffer from it too. I don't smoke, but was once advised by my doctor to take care of one addiction at a time, and not to even diet until I had the drinking issue controlled. (Your body's sayin' "Hey, where's all my STUFF?!?)

Hi Octo it's good to see you again.
I don't know what your financial situation is, but light box therapy is supposed to be very effective for depression as well as SAD. I took a girl to a meeting yesterday who has been using one for over a year now and has noticed a huge difference in her depression - she also takes meds, as do I. They cost around $240 here - I plan on investing in one this month. Just thought I would share that.
I look forward to seeing more of you around.
