Its Monday Morning and I am doing some work from home before I drive into the city to get a tooth extracted. This should be amongst the worst fears of my life but because I am in recovery and do what I need to every day to stay clean and grow/get well I can face these things and also see them in a different light.

This is part of me getting well, being able to function better and see things clearer. I aslo go to the gym most days and ride my bike most days again I see this as part of getting well along with meetings, step work, being with the God of my understanding and of course spending time with other addicts in recovery, a couple of those addicts are now close friends.

All of the work I put into my recovery rather than into the misrery in my head pays off every day of my life.

I can see and like myself more clearly now and am good to myself and look after myself thats why I am having my teeth done and why I ride ... and of course why I am in recovery.

And I belive it keeps getting better.

So if your new and struggling take heart as these struggles lead to freedom if you work at it.

back from dentist, still numb but all ok, the worst bit was the number of shots, more than 10 but less than 20!! one tooth out and one tooth filled and saved.

I am very happy.

Thanks for posting Nogard. It helped me tonight. I'm not new here, but feel so brand new, I never have stuck around long enough for anybody to get to know me. I remember you well from when I first joined this forum last year in December. On to day 7 for me...I'm trying to do what you wrote about....
