Hey All- I got my cast off Friday....there's a little bit of disfiguration and loss of mobility..another permamnent reminder of the cost and wreckage ( along with the scars, burns, slashes, cut marks...etc) from past "never again" moments. I start my coffee service position tonight...I'm looking forward to it...I was stuck in the house all weekend with 5 kids from 2-13 y/o...I'm really looking foward to the relative peace and quiet of a mtg. Day 25 for me...I'm trying to keep a grateful frame of mind ...to focus on the gifts and not on the losses or the "what ifs"....Today's gratitude moment- my young son is really into church...he asked me to take him this morning...got to watch him walk up and receive communion all by himself...so proud of himself and all serious....sober and aware....thats what I'm talking about when I say gratitude. Thanks everybody.

sounds like you have a lot to be grateful for....today was my godson's (and cousin) first communion but I was not there (Md) ....which is ok....I hit the beach.....here in FL....I'm grateful for 82 degree weather and sunshine in Feb.....

I was really upset, anxious and felt abandoned today. I was five mins away from going to a superbowl party and slamming shots. But I didnt, and now...I am so proud of myself for my control.

That is exactly the way I felt all weekend, I am so glad I am not the only one. Fortunately, I am also sober....whew.

I don't know. Feeling a little down today. I don't think it's Super Bowl related, I never really was a Super Bowl party type of guy. Probably a little seasonal related (I hate winter and the short days) and maybe a little due to dealing with life's stress and anxiety in a sober state. Thinking about calling the staff assistance program at work tomorrow and setting up an appointment with a therapist.

But on the plus side, really don't feel like drinking.
