Sober Super Bowl
Sober Super Bowl
At first I was kinda scared at the prospect of not getting smashed during the festivities. I always have before, and I've seen every one since Vince Lombardi's GB Packers won the first one.
Today, I find myself extremely excited about the idea and looking forward to it more than ever. I've been sober about six weeks now and I know there's no way I'm going to touch a drink, so for one of the first times I feel like I'm in charge of my life and what I do at an event rather than the alcohol.
Enjoy the game everyone! :ghug2

Going to a friend's house from AA. Sober house if you want to call it that. I'd hate to see these guys boozed up since they are rowdy enough sober. Should be fun, and safe, and I'll be surrounded by good sobriety. Have fun everyone!
This is my third sober superbowl and im looking forward to it. should be alot of fun. im crazy about what i eat so this should be a nice opportunity to stuff my face. here's to a great day!

WOW, Goodnfast...so many Super Bowls, and your first one sober! Super Bowl XLII should be memorable for you in more ways than one!!!
We'll be watching the game here...maybe about six or so of the nursing home residents who'll be able to stay up that late. Going to be in the small activities room with the big-screen tv, instead of the big lobby with the small-screen tv. The kitchen is going to provide little hotdogs and soda...I have a huge bag of cheese popcorn. Should be fun! I hope your team wins (as long as it's the Giants). I've been a Giants fan for over 50 years...so, I'll be doing a lot of rowdy screaming, as well as a lot of frantic praying!!! GO GIANTS!!!

Well....it's good that I was sober
cause the 4th quarter was a classic!
In the old days....no way would I have seen it.
Rae...
love your little football guy....how clever!
Glad your Giants won!

I wasn't really concerned about it until it started
I love the underdog to win unless it is my team that is playing them
So glad that the game like Carol said was a classic in all aspects.
Just was good to be able to feel finally something that wasn't drug induced :ghug2

Couldn't have asked for a better game, especially since my beloved Giants did what so few people were giving them credit for being able to do!!! The Patriots are a great team, but they were putting too much emphasis on that "perfect record" business...the Giants played "one game at a time", just the way we stay sober "one day at a time"! Bless them for doing what many thought was impossible!

The Super Bowl party at my AA club was great! I had a cheeseburger, hot dog, and a smoked sausage. Plenty of chips, dessert, coffee. So yeah my stomach is hurtin' for certain today!
But the best part was watching the game with so many good friends in recovery. We had a blast enjoying the day and the game together!

What a great game!!!
G-men killed it at the last minute!!
I am a jags fan so I didnt care really who won. But it was a good last quarter.
I know I ate so much I couldn't move. I was so full and so thirsty I couldnt drink any water I ate so much.
Had alot of laughs and some of the commercials were hilarious.
Hope everyone enjoyed theirs sober.
I did and I am glad.
