Wine-not!

Can you guys tell me when the physical withdrawal symptoms or physical dependence subsides? i am on day 3. feeling a lot better this evening than i did this am, but i know i've a while to go before my body actually quits craving it. i know psychologically i have an uphill battle. just wanting the physical discomforts to go away. thanks!

I was still having the shakes, "panicky" feelings on day 7. That was the last time I can recall having physical symptoms associated with alcohol withdrawal.

thanks angela. i think that is probably going to be my most panicky day too. i have gone 5 days and been relatively ok. i think that is when it is truly going to hit me...not that it is a picninc right now!

Hi both of you. Glad to see you on the road to recovery. I was reading your post and thought I would let you know there is a link thread called "quitting, what to expect" here at SR. You can find it under "Alcoholism Information." It relates personal experiences from people in recovery, as to what they went through when they were in early sobriety and what they did to help with that as well as make it through those times.
