I just wanted to share and spread hope to everyone. My dad has been sober now for one full year. It is so nice to have him back, didn't realize how much I missed him during the past 20 drinking / drunk years. Never really thought I would see the day. So for anyone who is feeling hopeless, this proves there is always hope. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and best of all "Happy" new year to everyone!!!!

Dad quit drinking too....

How wonderful. My Dad did too but didn't have a problem with alcohol until my brother and I were out on our own and married. He agreed to go to treatment and stayed sober from then on. :bounce
He was one special father in my book. He passed on in 2000 and my Mom 4 years before that. I miss them...find myself thinking about them more these days almost as if they can hear me thinking about them.
I hope you have lots of time to spend with your Father. He has done something very remarkable and probably still can't believe how good his life is being sober.
