Christmas...

Through all of the ups and downs. Through all of the triumphs and failures. Through all of the binges...vows of sobriety...and repeated relapses...I just want to wish all of my brothers and sister here an early MERRY CHRISTMAS! :-)

We fall. We get up. We dust ourselves off and try again. It is'nt always easy as I discovered for myself when I drank 9 beers this evening after vowing "never to touch another drop" (yeah, RIGHT!).

Still, I will always remember what one person told me here not too long ago and that is that "noone understands another alcoholic better than a fellow alcoholic".

That rings a bell in my head...touching base with our own kind, getting in touch with our feelings and talking to others who have "been there".

Please remember to give your dogs, cats, parrots, goats, horses, lions, tigers or whatever domestic or exotic animal(s) you own as well as your kids an extra treat this year. Also, the less fortunate. The man/woman on the street who does'nt have a warm, comfy place to call home a hamburger and give the stray cat a warm place under your porch and feed it. Donate to the poor and needy as you are able to according to your abilities and perosonal wealth.

Please remember to make this Christmas a special time this year for your children (as well as your animals). Also, the less fortunate. The man or woman on the street who does'nt have a warm, comfy place to call home. Give them food or donate to your local charity as you feel comfortable to and can afford to. There are a lot of people out there who won't be able to celebrate Christmas this year and as God has instructed me in His Holy Word, I will do whatever I can for them even if they are my enemy (so how much MORE should we do for our friends....relatives?)...

Romans 12:20...

"But if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him to drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head"

Luke 12:47-48...

"And that slave who knew his master’s will and did not get ready or act in accord with his will, shall receive many lashes, but the one who did not know it, and committed deeds worthy of a flogging, will receive but few. And from everyone who has been given much shall much be required; and to whom they entrust much, of him they will ask all the more".

I'm feeling so warm and fuzzy right now that I could fly like an eagle...so many "thank you's" and so much support here...I'm speechless...

Hmmm...looks like I had a fun time here last night while I was chugging down the frosties and living in my own little magical world.

Too bad I'm paying the price this morning with a mega-hangover )-:
