Maybe I'm just cranky today...
I'm seeing a lot of whinges about the latest crashes here and lost posts....OK no-one likes to lose posts, I understand that - but surely the important thing is - we're back ?
This place is important to a lot of people - we need it.
And I think the fact it's here is way more important than a few lost posts or PMs.

We are all here and I'm very grateful for that.
I've been told we lost about 200,000 posts and there may possibly be more problems yet.
The Admins have suggested you can back up anything you want to save on the Emergency board by posting it there.

We are the proof of our road of recovery and no one will ever forget our paths till the place each one of us is...
No matter what shape and what form that might be documented, our souls and our eyes are really the proof our journey.... I found that out when i realized i knew what to do, but didn't actually do it. Now i rather think it, do it, and then speak it...Of course i'll miss reading old stuff, but letting it not let me appreciate the present isn't what i feel like doing just for today...

Also, they are supposed to make backups everyday and they arent, according to MG.

To call it annoying is too put it mildly. Unfortunately, for us, (all of us), the people who are supposed to do the backing up, are not us who Admin/Mod this place.
The people who do it, are people who get paid to do it, who don't even visit this site, or have anything to do with it on a daily basis.
So here we all are now. And we're the ones left with trying to repair, rebuild, answer questions, deal with emotions, and figure out what to do next.
Somewhere, somebody was supposed to do a job, and they didn't. And that resulted in alot of chaos for alot of people.
Annoying. That's putting it mildly.

hey - it all happened on my days off. I'm a happy camper.
I've got a place to be ... I can get updates on my recovery family I care about all over the world ... I have no complaints.

I know Doug, it's whoever is in charge of the server and I know thats not admin or mods. I hope you didnt think I was blaming anyone here, because I love this place. I wouldnt be sober right now if it wasnt SR.
