hi barb,
i'm so sorry about your cat. stay sober for your beloved pet and cherish your time with her. you can get through this. there's a reason why we get sober when we do. we think, oh! i stopped drinking and all this bad stuff started happening...but no, it would have happened anyway, and the drinking would have made it worse.
god bless you and your family during this difficult time.

Hi Guys,
Found my thread. Glad its not lost.
Wanted to update you on Tammy. She goes to the vet on Thursday. I'm going to have the blood work done on her. I trying to be optimistic. My sister just lost her cat a month ago from diabetes. He totally shut down and didn't want to eat or anything.
Tammy isn't that bad so I'm praying that she can have the special food (my sister told me about) instead of insulin. If not i will have to put her down.
After talking to my sister this afternoon I'm trying not to freak out about this. I'm just staying in the day like they taught me in AA. When Thursday comes I'll go from there. Like my sister told me today, be prepared for Thursday just in case, but not let it freak me out so much until the blood work is done. So that's what I'm doing.

Thank you k and Rowan.
No thank you buttons.
I'm glad I'm going through this sober too. When i really think about it I will be even more miserable.
I like what Dee said on here. "Don't let a sucky situation get even sucker". That made me laugh and put a smile on my face.

That's a good plan Scaredy... staying in the day.
I had a cocker spaniel a long time ago. She was acting real sick and couldn't walk all of a sudden. I took her to the vet and they said she had some bladder something and was going to need expensive surgery or I'd have to put her to sleep. I had found a tick on her the week before... I had a feeling it might be Lymes. I asked if they could just give her some antibiotics and see if she got better while running some bloodwork instead of sugery. Turned out, she had Lyme's and was walking again in less than 2 days.
My point is... vets don't always know everything. Once you have the blood results back then you can make a decision. The best one for Tammy & you.

I'm going to the vet with Tammy in 2 hours. I'm very depressed today. I didn't want to get out of bed and face the day at all today. I finally crawled out of bed at 3:00PM.
Don't feel like writing much. but I'm here anyway.
