Hi Albatross;

Welcome to SR. It's pretty amazing here. Good choice. Oh yeah. Good choice about the whole sobriety thing, too.

There's some good responses here so far for ya to think about - I'm kind of the 'left field' poster here ... so I'll tell ya what I saw in my head while reading your posts.
I think you *are* serious about recovery, and might even have an abstract idea of what you can hope or with a sober life.
That's an advantage, trust me.

What is making you restless right now ...
is possibly an inability to connect with the God of your understanding. Personally, I mean.
WHether it's God ... or Buddah, or Martha Stewart ...
That's when things become restless.
When we lookl inside .. and see nothing clearly. Or feel.
That's when the steps of any Program become ... mundane.
Tedious. Repetetive. Meaningless.
That's when they become as remote and as
dysfunctional as the disease itself.

One brilliant post put it this way ... if you can't connect with the concept of a 'God' .. then replace that word with 'Good' ... until you CAN.

One of the singlemost profound posts ever put here in my opinion.

WHen we have 'good' in our focus as the guide of our 'next right thing' ... we relax.
We can ask.
And we trust what we're being shown as our next move -
even if it's just changing rooms for an hour - is good.

So if you clue in on it like that - relax and don't struggle ...
what happens? What appears?

Do that.

If we go looking down the road that hasn't even been built yet - we're gonna drink of use again. If we stay right here - in the now, in the next right thing zone -= we find a whole universe unfolding right in front of us.
Along with all the GOOD in the world.

Again - welcome!

Sorry to sound preachy.
