Trying to find a local meeting
My dad told me about ACoA's and so i started doing some looking on the internet, my father stopped drinking when i was 7, he'll be having his 20 year mark in feb of 08 and i'm very proud of him. The only problem is my mom still has an issue, it isnt with drinking its with gambling and he figured that going to the meetings might help me. Was wondering if anyone knew of a list of meetings if there is one? Thanks in advance

Yup i found that lol after i called my dad and asked him he suggested Al-anon, lol i'd love to go to the henderson one but i live off durango & 95. Even though i dont really think my dads drinking effected me all that much mostly because i cant really remeber it, mostly i think its the effects from my moms gambling and the fact shes still doing it(IE calling and asking for $$, then refusing to come see her grand kids or me because i wont give her cash) will Al-anon still kinda help you think?
Al-anon is for people who's lives have been affected by somebody else's addiction, so you are definetly welcome. Whether it will be helpful to you depends on how much effort you put into it
As far as Vegas westside, I haven't been to meets out there in years. Can't give you a recomendation. Try a few different ones and see what you think. I'd like to hear your opinion so I know where to send people the next time another person from Vegas pops in.
