Day two...
Today is day two since I got completely wasted and wondered how on earth I got through the night with my life intact. Today I have an opportunity to abstain from drinking again. I am going to take that opportunity while I still can. I realize that it will be far from easy but it is something I must do if I want to live.
I prayed in earnest and asked God to rid me of the temptation to drink this morning. I had my daily devotions. I took an Ativan (to prevent DT's and ease withdrawal symptoms) and later this morning I will be taking Naltrexone. If you believe in prayer, please pray for me. If nothing else, please be there for me if I become weak and need a freind to lean on. I'll be checking back in here often today.
I can do this with God's help and support from the community here...

Thanks so much people!!. I am still sober today and plan to stay that way. I prayed, took Naltrexone/Ativan and have zero desire to drink right now. However the meds/withdrawal (or both) are really making me feel spaced out (big time!) and I'm getting majorly peeved because I'm trying to make macaroni and cheese and I am STARVING HUNGRY but the water seems to take ALL DAY to boil. Then you have to drain it and add a bunch of crap (butter, salt, pepper, milk, cheese mix) and wait FOREVER for it to condense/reduce and then another zillion years for it to cool off (I HATE hot food) and oh yeah, I get REALLY grumpy and hungry when I'm detoxing. I could bite the head off a nail right now...GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

I'm on day three right now after a relapse. It won't get hard for me until Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll be biting the heads off nails, hammers, axes,...

Just ate. Did'nt take as long as I thought and it was quite tasty. Yes, thats exactly how it feels. I feel like an unstable mass that could implode from the inside out at any moment. It's really scary!. I made sure to take an Ativan before I ate because thats the number 1# thing they give you in a clinical setting to ward off siezures, DT's and such. Ohhhhhhhhhh...it's going to be a very l-o-n-g week...
PS: it's funny that you mention chocolate because we havn't had any in a long time and my room mate just bought a couple of huge chocolate bars the other day. Good call!.

Just concentrate on the next 5 minutes, then 30 minutes, and so on. At first, a day was waaaaay too long for me to think about--trying to stay sober. I had to take sobriety in very small amounts of time--and build my way up from there. Good luck! :praying

Well, I made it through the day thanks be to God and the people on this forum who gave me their support and encouragement. As I laid down last night it felt like my head was spinning...just really spaced out (almost panicky). I got 6 hours sleep last night. Woke up feeling rested but still a bit dazed from yesterday. Took my Ativan and am now having a cup of coffee. Looking forward to a third sober day...
