Angel - Satan

You know it when I'm sad.
You like it - an empty space you can fill with your rage.

White hot, then
Red and
Black.

Molten stone, civilizations boil like melted chrystal
frozen in their movements-
Suspeneded forever in the face of a power too dark to name.

And you - their messenger. From black
to white .
A spectrum to ride, like fever.
Hands like talons, pick me up like pray.
Angel-Satan, you glow with seduction.
I follow you blind, through Ancient labyrinths,
Swallowing the thread that leads to freedom
That leads to faith.

Obsession

Hey Tammie ! Yeah - I wrote it. I was obsessed beyond obsessesion with
a man who was a cocaine user and beautiful and coplex -and emotionally dangerous for me - I look at now, and it's also about addiction.
Are addicition and obsession the same ?

I don't see him anymore - but still think abot him....
Hope you have an a amazing day. Looks like the sun is about to shine in NYC!
Blessings ! Daria

You have an awesome writing ability, seriously!!! Feel free to share more if you've got em!! I rode to NYC with my hubby twice, it was fun going around in the big truck. My mom was born at Bellevue Hospital in NYC. She was adopted though here in PA, I probably have relatives around NYC area. I'd like to do some geneaology. Well, I hope you have a most wonderful weekend, Daria!

Many hugs and hope too,
Tammie

P.S. I think obsession is the perfect synonym for addiction!!

TAMMIE ! Thanks.I come from a family of (dysfunctional) talented writers.
It has influenced the way I see.. So you have family in N.Y.C??!!!!
Check out Ancestors.com . It's an Internet genealogy site. People have found amazing stuff about their families there. I'm not ready for that one yet !

Daria!

Very impressive poem! Keep writing them!

Addiction vs. Obsession! Good question--I'm not addicted to any drugs or alcohol, but..........

I am obsessed with some things, I know--like daydreaming about what coulda, shoulda, woulda been, and food! Especially if there's something I can't eat (I'm allergic to wheat). So I try to find the most similar food to something I can't eat, and overeat it--like wheat-free brownies. I even make oatmeal cookie dough with spelt flour, just so I can eat oatmeal cookie dough! Geesh!

I think the food thing is from when I was young, and my alcoholic Dad wouldn't let us eat, if he didn't feel like letting us, and we'd have to wait until he passed out to raid the nearly empty cupboards. I swore back then when I was an adult I'd eat anything I felt like eating. Then I developed an allergy to wheat. My sister was in on these thoughts with me, and now she's diabetic. Hmmmmm......

I think these obsessions sound very much like addictions!

Hey , Lyn_Blossom 78 - Thanks for your email! Yeah - obsession.
its big one. I don't drink or drug either - but when I go off on an obsession,
I feel like I'm doing both. Food, you say ? How bout sugar?
That should be classifies as a drug , in my opnion. My whole state
changes when I eat it and I feel high. Do you ?

There's always an emotional trigger that starts the craving - Ah, well -
A lot of people have wheat allergies and also to dairy products. My Mom's
mother was diabetic - so you never know. Does it skip a generation?
Best to you - Love and Blessings, Daria

Daria:

I don't think sugar makes me feel high, but then, I've never been high. I just get a feeling of being rebellious--like as if I did something my dad wouldn't have approved of, but he can't say anything

As far as diabetis skipping a generation, all I know is it can be hereditary. In my sister's case, though, it was probably caused from a childhood illness that destroyed her pancreas. None of the rest of us or our family shows any signs, including her own children.

I'm on the Adkins diet right now, which is low carbohydrates (sugar, mostly), and lots of protein. Hey, I figured without eating wheat, I was halfway on this diet anyways--no pastas, gravies, breads, desserts, etc. All I had to give up was candy!

I enjoyed your poem. My daughter writes poetry, among other things. I currently are on my finally editing of a book I've written. I think I'm going to get right on that soon.

Lyn - Thanks for responding. I know a lot of people that have done the Atkins
diet. I can't because I'm a vegetarian and I know he recommends lots of meat.
I am currently on a diet of live food, which is very balanced and has huge amounts of energy. It's helping with the cravings - but it's still a withdrawl
process. Sugar wise .

What is your book about? Iis it a secret? Best of luck with it! I try to stay high on life ! I do Pilates and Yoga and that helps too ! - Now if I could only learn how to type??! Many Blessings , Daria
