Let's Pull Together
Let's Pull Together
As the Moderator of the Newcomers forum, I want to thank all of the newcomers (and not so newcomers) for their great posts and sharing. I am personally very protective of the Newbies and have a huge amount of compassion for people who are coming here for the first time and seeking help. I know you all feel the same way.
But, it has come to my attention recently, that some people feel there is some negativity here. We do our best to keep arguments and personally negative comments off the boards. As soon as I seem them or hear of them, I remove these posts and PM the members involved. Of course, none of us can read everything all the time. Please PM me or Rowan if you have an issue with ANYTHING in Newcomers.
We are here to support each other and to help ourselves on the road to recovery.

Anna you and Rowan and all of the others have made this a safe place to come and it is greatly appreciated all the hard work you all do to make it that way!
Thank you Anna!
I haven't seen the negative stuff lately but then.....I like to ignore it.
It happens......in life and here........either way SR is a great place and
I hope any newcomers visiting feel comfortable posting here. It may
intimidating at first but we have such compassion and understanding
for people looking for help for the first time. We were all there once, at least.
Welcome to All Newcomers.
Please post and tell us about yourself or if you feel more comfortable, just say hi.

Thanks, Anna...and, to you Rowan...for everything you do to make this a safe place for "everyone", new and old alike.
As someone who's been "around the block", as well as around the board, a few times...I try not to feed into the negativity. And, whenever possible, I try to smooth the ruffled feathers of any newcomers who might feel intimidated by those who may (in their "enthusiasm") come on a bit strong.
We all need to keep in mind, this is a forum primarily directed to newcomers, who can be very fragile in early sobriety...we surely don't want to scare anyone off.
