I've been doing amazingly good for the past two months.. i had a tragedy to occur in the family three days ago, and i wasn't able to cope. I tried my best to deal with it but i gave in and now i cant put it back down... ive doubled what i used to be.. AA isn't helping much at all because i see most of my fellow members relapse also.. should i see a doctor?

Hi bluxx,

You should do whatever you think it will take for you to stop drinking. I think it's common for consumption to quickly increase after a relapse. Seeing a dr might be a good place to start. I am glad you came here seeking support.

I'm so sorry to hear of your family tragedy. A doctor's visit may be wise, yes.
When you go back to AA, if you haven't already, get a sponsor and stick with those who are not always relapsing.

I agree - nip this in the bud now - see a Doctor to at least start some kind of ball rolling...and Rowan's advice on AA sounds good

See a doctor, and if you want AA to work you have to work AA. Go to meetings, and hang out with the winners. They will tell you the rest.
