New here!

Hi everyone ,

I am brand new to this site. I am here because my husband is an alcoholic.

Just getting started with my own admissions to co-dependency because of it, and beginning the learning process to heal myself.

We have been trying to get my husband into treatment, and I thought he was ready, but he backed out with a couple of excuses. Now I'm getting my anger back under control so I can decide what I need to do next.

Wanted to say a quick hi for now, and I'll post more on my story at a later time.

Hi and welcome,

I'm glad you found us. You may wish to check out our Friends and Families of Alcoholics section. I'll grab you a link for it

Hi DLC, and welcome to SR. I'm a codie as well as a recovering alcoholic. You'll find plenty of help in the F&F forum, I look forward to hearing more from you there.

Thank you everyone for your warm welcome!

As a side note, I wanted to let everyone know as well, my AH is looking at SMART Recovery. I wanted to find a place where I can interact and ask questions where I can get varying opinions and input. I spent several hours last night perusing and reading various posts. Feeling a bit overwhelmed and have been that way for quite some time. I really want to dig out and start feeling better. I need to do it for me and for my 5YO DD.

We are in a tough place right now and I am making some decision about what is next. I'll be posting and asking for advice.

Thanks again everyone!

I go to AA myself, but I do know of people who have found success using SMART. Good luck to you and your husband, Lynn.
