I stayed busy. Took note of the trigers and changed directions. I come here and read as I do starting off every morning. I stop by and read also before going home after work at night. One of my key drinking times.
I hit myself in the head with a empty BEER bottle every time I think i really want one with something in it. LOL.
Really I wake up and decide not to drink today!

I went grocery shopping with my daughter and grandson. My husband got the afternoon to himself...sleeping away in his chair with our little dog sitting with him.

My daughter and I talked about her Christmas Party at work and that she and her husband decided to stay the night at the Resort she works at (She gets a big discount) because her husband will be having a few drinks and my daughter doesn't like to drive down the mountain in the dark. She doesn't drink...is a Juvenile Diabetic, using insulin. They will have little Tyler with them too. :day4

She and I discuss alcohol and the factors that lead to becoming addicted. She says Tracy doesn't drink much because he doesn't have much awake time with the 12 hour shifts he works now. He works two day shifts and then two night shifts and then has three days off to catch up on his sleep so he can go hunting too. :atv

So that was my day today. I cooked supper and did dishes before and after I ate. I usually don't have many dishes so do them while I am cooking and then finish up the supper dishes. It is easy that way for just the two of us. :comfort

Stayed busy. I had an urge to drink so I started working instead. That is huge for me because I set my own hours and could have easily gone to a bar.

I finally got the process of renewing my resisdent card done.
it's been like pulling teeth. I waited until it expired of course.lol
it's was a trip becuase everything changed and i had to do
research, find the correct form figure how, when , where.
Drove all over the county, got different directions from different
people then finally found where the new office is at.lol
i made it more difficult than it had to be. So today was the day
i went to my appointment to get finger printed. I'm good for another
10 years.lol I've only lived in the u.s. for 30 years and served in the usaf.
You would think I applied for my citizenship by now.lol
Do i have a problem with taking care of myself or what ?lol
I started working on this a couple of months ago..so I'm glad it's taken
care of. Yes, yes, my mom jumps on me all the time about my citizenship.
i don't wanana go to jury duty.lol Still room to grow, thou.

Then later we celebrated my niece's birthday party.
It was cool.

It was a good day today. i got my bussiness tanken care of
and i celerbeated with someone else and gave something to someone.
A good balance.

I don't have an excuse to not go look for work anymore.lol
i've been looking for the past couple of weeks...i can work now.
I feel good about it. i needed a little time out to work through some personal issues.lol
moving forward with my life..it's a good sign.
Hopefully i won't get known as johny paycheck that was my nick name the girls
at the office use to give me.

Went to my wednesday big book

study meeting........

Said the serenity prayer (long version)....

God grant me the serenity

to except the things I cannot change,

The courage to change the things I can,

and the wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment

at a time, taking, as Jesus did, this world as it is

and not as I would have it. Trusting that he will make all

things right if I surrender to his will, so that I may be

reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy forever

with him in the next. Amen.....

Love and Hope, hope3 :praying

I love recovery, and try to live it 24/7 by starting my day with prayer and meditation, posting on SR and calling/emailing sponsees and other alcoholics, meetings and service work every afternoon. Life is never boring and there's no time to think about drinking, it's rewarding to be active in the program.

Thumbs up

Very good and inspiring shares here!

So many times at a meet or other things if chairing or in conversations I never really think about the things that I do on a continuing basis to say sober n clean.

Most of us have a set routine as I call it and some of us don't. I have found that when I apply my "normal" routine that I end up having a fairly decent day. The days that I might wonder off course, ie: waking up late, not doing my readings, not doing my postings, etc. than I seem to be all out of wack.

So even though my routine is so similar in many ways each day is different also.

An example was about 1am this morning I heard a knock at the door. Normally I wouldn't even bother to answer because being sober n clean I never get those knocks too much LOL. But I answered the door and it was my Sister. They were doing something at work (too tired to remember) that she needed a place to hang for a hour. Made coffee and visited for about 1/2 hour.

So anyways since she woke me up, I figured that my HP must want me up and doing something so I started to do different things. I stayed up until about 6am and than went back to bed and woke up again at 9ish. Than I got busy with what I would say is my "normal" routine.

So yeah very seldom do we even think about those questions. What did you do to stay sober n clean today?

Easy answer... didn't drink .

I haven't done it yet but going to yoga class later is what I will do for my sobriety. I don't go everyday, but I cherish the days I do. On the days I don't go to a class I try to meditate or I will read something yoga related. Yoga isn't just the physical poses. It's a state of mind, a way of life.

I cried.

Then I read lots of posts from family members about what they are going thru. It helps me stay focused; don't want to torture my family.

I pick up my son in an hour from school. I can't wait to hug him.
