Daughter in Rehab
Daughter in Rehab
Hey my friends,
Noooo, I haven't forgotten about any of you, and you all remain in my prayers. Just been soo busy, have hardly had time to even LURK!!
My daughter was evicted from her apt on the 28th of Oct, so I let her and the boyfriend move in with me until her rehab date which was the 10th of this month. I can see the raised eyebrows...lol. But they are both on methadone, and actually doing really well. There were conditions....
1) They were to cook and clean and do the yard work
2) No smoking in my house
3) No DRUGS!! (goes without saying...lol)
4) Get up early every day, and reasonable time to bed
They don't have a car so wasn't tooo much of a problem actually...lol.
Anyway, I drove her the 2 1/2 hours to rehab on the 10th, and she seems to be doing OK. I believe this is court mandated, so she knows she has to stay. The boyfriend is homeless once again. But I did tell him to call me if he ends up unable to get into a shelter some nite. I told him, I didn't want him to be sleeping on the street.
I truly believe (ahhhh, we mothers!!) , that they want to get better. I know they hated living like they were. It's a long road back, and not without bumps i.e. getting evicted. But I actually see a change in her every day. Each day more of her delightful personality emerges. Still a little sickness some days, but taking teeny tiny steps.
My grandson, loved having them here. He (of course) loves his mom, and I told him, he was to tell me if there were any problems with the boyfriend.
I didn't want to allow the boyfriend here, but I knew that my daughter, sadly wouldn't come unless he did. But, I actually got to know him a leetle better during this stay. Can't say I'm delighted with him, but I know, there are sure worse out there, and the devil ya know...lol. And I know my daughter would find a replacement quickly, so I'll take what I get.
Am working nites, think about all of you often, and you are in my prayers always
Love

Glad to hear from you and that your daughter is in a rehab. That is a good step. I hope that she will find a good place to continue her sobriety when she gets out of the rehab.
That is so generous of you to let her and the boyfriend stay at your house.
"The things we do for love." God Bless You.
You are a beacon of hope and love.

You are all in my prayers...I do hope she keeps taking those steps forward. It always warms my heart to see how your love and compassion for your daughter shines through. You are such a wonderful example of how to detach with love. Hugs
Ahhh, when I think of what a journey this has been, and I know it is not over yet, but for those of you I haven't met...
My daughter, just a leetle over 1 year ago, was a junkie, living on the streets, selling herself to get money....was down to 98 lbs, and looked like a walking zombie. She's now healthy looking, taking an interest in her son again, and most of all, being present in our lives again.
There is HOPE!! And let me just say, I am here today because of all the angels on this site....

I wondered where you have been. I haven't been on too much myself lately. I guess when things are going pretty well I can take a little break from SR. It makes me feel good to know that you are all just a click away when I need someone to talk to.
I'm glad your daughter is keeping her son and you in her life. She is back on her road to recovery. She'll make it.....I just have a good feeling about it.
Blessings coming your way............Lo
