update on me
Most of you know I'm a mom of a recovering addict who's been clean over a year and a half. My husband has a history of drug use as a teenager with a few brief relapses since.
He has a neurological condition that can sometimes show symptoms similar drug use. I recently discovered that he has been abusing his prescription meds, so now I'm working my recovery with a slight change in focus.
Thankfully he's attending (90 in 90) meetings, has a new sponsor, is making amends, being honest and accountable. Trust issues are the worst part of this for me. I'm taking good care of myself and getting through some very tough days- one day at time.
So, now you know what's going on with me. I'm so grateful for this place and all of you here.
Thanks for reading.

Don't forget to do something nice for yourself during all this, sweetie.
All who know you, are envious of that recovery belt of yours.
You shine brilliantly...
Sending you prayers for strength and perseverance.
Love ya,

Love ya,
thank Goodness you have all that recovery to back you up. Although you have always been an example for me and all of us here,
You don't always have to be the perfect example. I am sure it has sent you for a bit of a loop.
you have always had such wisdom, I have faith in you,
Prayers for you and your husband.:praying

It takes a lot of strength and courage to have gone through what you have been through this past while, so please remember to take very good care of yourself and have some time just for "you".
Sending big hugs and prayers

Thanks so much for your kind replies, prayers and encouragement. Working through this bit by bit is hard sometimes and I find that as usual, coming here to SR to be with all of you has made all the difference for me.
We went out for lunch today with our daughter, RAS and his "fiancee" (yep!) and hubby took him aside after the meal to tell him what has happened. I'm glad I waited and gave him the chance to do that himself. They had a nice recovery chat and all is well between father and son.
Nobody knows this stuff, like you all who have shared the same pain in one way, shape or form. I'm so sorry when I meet someone who understands my pain, because we both know the reality of it, and then I am also glad to find a friend who also knows that I understand them too. I still feel amazed at how the strength of recovery comes from sharing ESH. It's a strange circle or cycle to share from experience and touch another's heart in their time of need. You all do that for me, every day.
