He may have slipped by with his job this time, but as far as "he will have one over on me", that's not really true. Eventually, he will face more consequences because of his drinking. He's already lost the ability to get drunk and harrass you in your home. If I had any money
I'd bet that he's not going to be able to keep that up.
What's important, now, is to keep concentrating on YOU. You don't have to tolerate verbal abuse from him OR his mother. I heard, a long time ago, "you get what you tolerate". It was really, really hard for me to see that this is true.
You've made some major progress and if you keep taking baby steps, you will find yourself NOT tolerating the BS that comes out of their mouths.
