going away
I might not post to much for the next few days. Tonight on my way into my meeting I fell and broke my wrist. I have a temporary cast one and need to see my doctor as soon as they can get me in for it to be recast. I am in pain tonight, and typing with one hand. I will be reading the posts, but if I don't reply it isn't because I don't want to.
Take care and have a good week

Ahhhh Pam, I'm so sorry. Once the permanant cast is on in a few days you will feel much better, I'm sure. But i know how painful those first few days are. If the ortho doesn't get you in tomorrow, ask your primary to call in a favor...The sooner the better. I'll be thinking of you and sending prayers for comfort and healing. Gentel hugs.
Well, that just stinks!
I wish I could say something to make it feel better (like a nice codie) and I wish I could say something to make you feel better!
Being short on both I wish you well!

Oh that stinks, well we'll be thinking of you everyday. I played sports my whole life, hence many a broken bone, if it hurt even after the cast is put on, elevate it, put a pillow behind your head and put your arm over your head and onto the pillow. It makes a world of difference. And by the way you type pretty darn good with just one hand! LOL
(((( pam ))))
I highly recommend a $15 microphone that plugs into your computer. Windows 97 and above comes with a voice recognition software... it's under the language settings as I recall. I used it with good success after surgeries on EACH of my thumbs that had me in casts for 8 weeks each time. All you have to do is read a bunch of silly stuff into the microphone so the computer learns your voice etc.
See how codie I am? I want to run right in and take care of you.... It's selfish of me, but I always get so much insight from your posts that I don't want to miss out on PB&J wisdom!

Pam, Sending my wishes for you to get better quickly. Don't feel badly about replying. There are days when all I do is read and it is okay. When I broke my kneecap last February, friends on here reminded me that maybe it was my HP telling me to slow down and breathe. Even though it was tough, I did and I actually enjoyed myself. (After the initial pain became tolerable, that is) Hugs, Marle
Thank you all for the replies. They made me smile through the pain. Went yesterday to have a new cast put on. Seems I cracked 3 bones in the wrist. When I got home Tues night, I said" God you have a great sense of humor, don't know why this happen but I know you have a reason. Pain pill, tyneol with codine helped me sleep last night.
Will post again in a few days, not easy typing one handed.
Hugs to all of you, have a good weekend
