im back need to kick this

I was here early this year but jumped the wagon hard killing my self with alcohol this is harder then when i came clean from many drugs 9 yrs. ago but i had a my fiance and close friends but they have died since then been slamming everclear down me i need to stop for my kids doc said i need to stop for my liver and my health he wanted to put me in treatment center work said they wouldnt hold my job i do want to stay off the alcohol i think its worst then the heavey drugs i use to take

Welcome back. Sorry you are going through a tough time. You can kick alcohol.
Since you aren't going to treatment, do you think AA is something you'd be interested in? The thing is, when alcohol is involved the pain is so fresh in the beginning and willpower isn't enough to keep us away from it. Alone it is too much for us and is where a solid recovery program would come in.

It is easy to say "I will quit drinking" yet hard staying away from alcohol.

Remember, take it one day at a time and don't drink no matter what.

would like to do something like that but i work to much and im a single father so i dont have alot of time

Your doctor gave you bad news straight up.
Did he mention a short term De Tox?
That's usually 3 days.

AA meetings are often held every day.
Many allow children and some have play rooms.
What about your days off from work?

i dont get days off im on call when the other maintance guys cant get something fixed i have to go and take care of it i know it sounds like alot of excuses and im not tring to give any i been thinking what i could do i was told to state talking on here that way if i do get called out then i can always come back and read and reply thank you for the birthday wishes

If you do go to a rehab - even if you loose your job - you might find that you will get a better one later - when your mind is clearer and you are sober. Has happened many times before.

Maybe have a think about that .....

just keep coming back here, read everything you can. please keep an open mind about going to aa meetings or to a detox. where there is a will there is a way. angie
