Hi,

Welcome!

Yes, I do remember feeling like that and I think that the only way to deal with it, is to get through it. Once you get through it once, the next time is just a little bit easier. You will get stronger and healthier.

Everytime you beat a craving, it gets easier...you learn a little more about handling it each time.

The first time is the hardest...but you can do it. Cravings only last minutes

I like the big peppermint Lifesavers or Atomic Fireballs. They replace the sugar your system is telling you it wants. It's not absolute, but it helps. Yes, they are addicting too.

I've lost count how many 'Day 1' I've had. It seems like the first craving is the hardest. The only advice I can offer is to go through the pain. I don't think there is anything you can down to fill that hole at first, its just a case of trying to distract yourself till it passes. Just remember that it does pass. Thats how it is with me. Have you thought about any support groups? I found it hard to ask for help, but I get a lot from going to meetings and listening to other people sharing. Glad you've found your way to SR, looking forward to getting to know you.
