Prayers neede
Prayers neede
Hi everyone!
I posted the longer version on the substance abuse forum what also wanted to post here, so this will be a shortenend version.
My very wonderful stepsister, "T", notified me yesterday that she is going into a treatment facility here in Atlanta on Monday. She has multiple health problems and her doctor has given her anything and everything and is now addicted to klonopin, vicodin, and oxy.
She's smart, had told her Dr. that klonopin was getting to be a problem but he basically told her it wouldn't hurt her and that is what she is having the most difficulty from. Someone from the treatment hospital has been talking to her and has her on a slow taper.
Her best friend is not an addict but has been around addicts most of her life and is a tremendous support.
I am grateful that I'm clean today and can be there for T, her husband and my niece and nephew (6 and almost 3). I am being careful to make sure I don't get TOO involved and her friend is reminding me of boundaries by example. I do plan to go to the family meetings when she gets in there 'cause I figure it will help us both!
Her husband is NOT an addict and doesn't really understand but so far is being supportive and their insurance will cover the treatment so it won't put a financial strain on him.
So anyway, I knew she was getting into trouble but was in denial. Now that she has told me "I'm an addict" I'm hoping she follows through. So please pray for her, her husband and my adorable and wonderful niece and nephew.
Thanks!
Amy
