Lifes a challenge I tell ya.....

Well good news....AND bad news.....

The good news is I'm feeling pretty darn strong nowadays in my recovery. Oh yes, I may teeter a bit when the going gets tough, but mostly, I'm walking a good road, these days.

The bad news is.....oldest son (34year old) who was just released in March, from his 3rd prison stay .....has to go to court for possession with intent to sell Marijuana.....

and the good news again.....
I'm good, all good.

Hugs,

i am saying a prayer for him & you too. you are very strong in your recovery & you will get through this. if only our guys would get a program in their life it would be so much better for them. we at least can now have peace & they are not controling our life.hugs,

((((Moose)))

Darn these kids of ours, I'm handing out steel toed bunny slippers to all the mamas here.

I'm so sorry, Moose, I know you're okay but it's gotta hurt.

Both your boys are in my prayers and I know their HP is watching over them...shaking His head sometimes maybe, but He loves ALL his children...even ours...especially ours.

Big Hugs and Lotsa Love

Oh Moose, so sorry to hear this. You know, what's a mom to do? Well, good thing we have recovery in these times because we know we do nothing but pray for our kids.

One of the very best gifts recovery has given me is freedom....freedom to stay in today, freedom to not worry about tomorrow. You know the 1st step...powerless over him just as he is powerless over his addiction. I hate this, but we both know that until he's had enough, you have to put him in God's hands.

I know I didn't seek recovery until I was desperate, so I'm praying God will give your oldest the gift of desperation.

Love and Hugs ,

Is that what it's called? Research?

Hope they have a nice Lab with petrie dishes and bunson burners in the slammer.....cause I'm betting he's going back......

Actually I never real thought of him as a "Research Scientist"
My thought was he was someone who works closely with the Criminal Justice System...Hmmm a little too close!

obviously prison doesn't reform the addict after you look at all the multiple convictions out there. instead of prison there should be something else - something i still don't know - but something more rehabilitative.

also ill be unpopular and say potheads on the average shouldnt be in jail. theyre some of the most harmless people out there. however, since it *is* illegal and it *is* the black market, i can understand why.

im a recovering pothead and i need to avoid the herb like the plague. but i still think it should be legalized so the government can regulate it, tax it, and decrease the amount of prisoners using all of our tax dollars.

PS, sorry to hear the bad news mooselips. i like your attitude about the situation, tho.

Afraid,
Thanks for your input...
I agree about the rehab part, but actually there ARE resources out there when they're released from prison, IF they want them.

My son just substituted one drug for another...

It's sad, but I'm guessing it's a learning experience......

Moose,

My AD was working (so called) at the out-patient clinic where she attended. The dr running it took a liking to her and hired her part time to work in the office. Well, there was going to be this big conference on Jekyll Island with recovery people coming from all over the US and she was supposed to be helping with it. Well, my AD didn't quite make it to the conference. So when the dr was introducing his staff, (I think there was a big picture on a power point presentation or something), he came to the pic of my daughter and announced that she couldn't be there that night, that she was doing research in Mississippi.

Translated that meant: She relapsed and was in rehab somewhere else. Of course everyone in the room knew, too, since they were all AA related. Amazing how everyone just chuckled and knew she just wasn't "done" yet.

Oh, I'm praying this last research gets your son done DONE!

Hugs,

Unfortunately I thin addicts have the same problem I do...keep circling back to step 1...surrender, let it go then take it back when things are calmer...over and over. Each time I've learned and each time I "get it faster"...I hope that's true for your son too Moose. So sorry for that welcome home news.

Sorry to hear the bad news again. Sigh.

If you're looking for a get-away, RI is AWESOME in the fall!
We have the most beautiful "indian summers" and the leaves turn vibrant colors.
Besides, I've got plenty of room now that Trevor's gone.

You're recovery is shinning...

Shalom!
