Finally starting IOP

Well I just got back from my assesment for IOP. Same one that wouldnt take me last time.
Well they are taking me. I go 5 days a week starting tomorrow. Just in time too. I get my first paycheck tomorrow too.
So on top of my new determination...This will just be another resource to reinforce my path to recovery.
The clinition says she sees alot of strenghths in me and she thinks I am going to make it. Lets hope shes right.

Hi Trish,

Are you going to give your paycheque to someone for safekeeping?

Good luck Chiy. 5 days p/w sounds pretty intensive . Mine was only 3 3x's a week for 3 hours a night. You will make it if you want to...you have to want to.

Hey! I go to my IOP assessment 9/20/07. I would really love to hear from you and how you are doing in your program. I am 22 days sober today ( a miracle).

you keep showing up here and now you've taken action with IOP. a part of you must want this. if ALL of you wants this, you will without question, absolutely make it. but we dont have to worry about making it or not....all we have to do is not pick up today. fortunately there is not length of commitment required for AA...just today only. its 8:17PM CST, i think we can all make it today. wow...a day without drinking today! might not mean much to alot of people, but to me it means everything.

I saw something last night at work that reminded me of why I DONT want to get high anymore.
This really came out of nowhere..But I thought about it all night.
I was outside smoking a cigarette and this minivan pulls up a little past the front of the building. I hear argueing coming from inside.
I was like wow..Am I going to catch a show too?
Well the drivers door flies open and I hear him yell.."Your a F'ing crackhead!!!!"
And he is all over the floor and I am hearing the passenger ...which is a lady whining hystericly asking where her $20 is and just crying and saying it over and over like she just lost the most important thing in life.
And I hear the guy say.."I told you the guy snatched it!"
All I felt was pity...I dont know why.
Also it was like looking in a mirror.
It was just another reminder of why I dont want to get high anymore.
Looking and acting like that.
been there too many times than I like to remember.
Anyway...Just wanted to share.

Well IOP went pretty good. It is only 2 and 1/2 hours 5 days a week. I was falling asleep almost when I first got there because I got up at like 7:30 yesterday night before work...Went to work at 11pm and got out at 7am and just stayed up until I went there at 11 am and got out at 1:30 pm. I didnt say too much at first because that is how I am. I have to soak in my surroundings first. Then I wouldnt shut up. Yea ...doesnt take me long to get my mouth going.
Dont you all feel sorry for my grams that has to live with me??? LOL...
Anyway...I am wide awake and have to work tonight. I hope I get to sleep soon.
Anyway...It was only 3 of us in the group. I guess a few others werent there. But they are really small groups from what I understand. So I like that.
I can handle it. Plus they serve a lunch at 1:30...But tI am done by then so I just come home.
Well..I made it to the first part of this meeting type stuff and didnt die. WHO KNEW??

WHO KNEW, indeed?

I hope you get some sleep before work tonight - you're going to need it!

Have you got that paycheque burning a hole in your pocket yet?? Yeah, I'm gonna keep riding you about it until you answer me!

No ...I could have went and got it earlier but didnt feel like I needed to. So I will just get it when I go to work. It is a quick shot 2 exits down the highway nowhere near the way to get to the city. So I think I will be OK.
I need to pay for my license renewal and a parking ticket. I definately dont want to go through license suspensions. That is such a headache and a mess to straiten out.
