Its getting easier :)
Its getting easier :)
Just back from my third AA meeting and I feel great.
It was really hard, I had the usual anxiety, chest pain, queasiness and panic that I had the last two times.
I got there a little early and I made eye contact with people. I was too scared to start talking to people, but I made eye contact and they spoke to me. I hung around at the end instead of running off, and I got some numbers and someone is going to call me.
It was still really scary, but it was a little easier. I'm going to keep going, and it'll keep getting easier.
I've been ruled by my anxiety for so long, but I'm putting my sobriety first now.

Why are you scared to get to a meeting?

I am so glad that you are getting to meetings.
If you want to find folks in real life like you find here, they are hanging out in AA.
Hopefully you can connect with someone that you can go to meetings with.
That should help immensely.

I try to talk to people, but I end up crying instead. Great way to make a first impression!
These are the words to an old 1947 song...but, so true!
