Trying, again
Hi,
I am new here and a friend suggested I try posting. I have quit drinking before but it seems impossible this time. The cravings and the depression are intense. I thought maybe if I heard from others beginning sobriety it might,
Help!

Hi Alyce, nice to see you here
I'm still pretty new to sobriety, I've got 9 months. I'm listening and learning. I've asked a few questions and everyone has been really helpful. I hope you feel at home here.
Welcome

Hi Alyce..Thats how I found this board too. Someone suggested it.
Been here ever since.
It really is a great board and lots of support and plenty of understanding to go around.

Hi Alyce,
Welcome! This is a great place for support.
Depression is really difficult to deal with, and I know for me it is the thing I have to be most careful about. I can't have the luxury of letting myself go there because I know it will lead to a downward spiral.
What did you do in the past to help you with sobriety?

Hi Alyce,
Welcome to SR. FYI there are several drugs out there that help alcoholics quit drinking, and for some they are very effective.
If you think you would be interested, and you have the means, I would ask an addictions specialist about them. I learned about these drugs from HBO website, click on the 'Addictions' button on the left, and you're all set.
Best on your recovery,
Dave

Hi Alyce,
Welcome to our recovery community. Getting sober is a gift you can give yourself, and it'll change your life in so many ways.
I go to AA, plus I regularly speak to a therapist. That, and coming here, helps.
I hope you keep posting and decide to stick around. There is hope.

Glad you are back Alyce14....Welcome!
Have you considered seeing your doctor
and being honest about your drinking?
Do you have a new plan for living sober?
Hugs and Blessings

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the support; I am trying for Day 1 today. It would be so good to get this off my back. I know the world does do a 180 degree turn when one quits, but it is so hard to see from this side of that turn,

Alyce,
You can do this!
Stay sober today and begin to feel good about yourself. I know that alcoholism beats us down and destroys our self-confidence. Try to feel good about yourself today.
