Precarious position
Hi...
Many of you know me (Jhana/Gianna) and I have recently made major changes in my life:
Early retirement from a job-job (I have been freelance for most of my working life)
Restarting freelance business (think isolation here)
Moved in with longterm bf in a city that is NOT the Big Apple
Still coping with an injury to my all-important right hand and arm (4 years ago)
And, guess what?!! You people are my most pervasive community. I would love to hear from friends old and new,
Jhana

Hi Gianna,
I remember your arm injury and I'm sorry it's still bothering me.
And, you moved away from New York! That's really surprising because I know how much you love the city life. The freelance thing sounds great to me. I love the idea of having that much independence.

Pervasive indeed....
....I used to check my emails first thing in the AM but now I can't wait to come visit SR, my new addiction! I can't believe it's come to mean so much to me. I can share as much or as little as I want, I'm not nagged into doing anything specific, can just take things at my own pace. Later I may do additional things to help myself, but being new to the world of sobriety I'm taking baby steps for now. Today being Friday, there are so many triggers - the weekend will be difficult.
Pleased to meet you, Jhana!!

Well, if my count is right I have some good old friends: CarolD, Kevin, 51Anna, Rowan, Dee74...and some new ones: Hevyn, stone, gypsy tears, TINLIZZIE, Astro, Missymae737 so far to hang in there with me on my (scary, but exciting) new adventure. Thanks so much for the support.
Something I so took for granted before I wrecked my right hand/arm now intimidates me. Do I still have it? What is it now? (I am an illustrator). The difference for both good and bad is that everything I do is on the computer. So...the left hand has taken over a lot. My right makes many mistakes (touchtyping) is one casualty, but it is getting better, and a Wacom tablet, "forgiving" brushes in Illustrator, and my increasing knowledge of Flash, + my expertise at Photoshop will get me through.
But THE BIG ONE is the support I gotten back here. I have really needed you all to stop by to say hello, everyone of you.
Thank you,
Jhana (Gianna)

By the way I hope you mean you date back to 1920 (I bet not) but considering that I am...well, alright, I am not going to say how old I am, but I sure wish I could say I was 20-something again. LOL

Hello again today,
This seems like my little coffee house I used to love in Greenwich Village in NYC. Sometimes you would walk in and everyone you knew was there, and then other mornings...no one. Still, it is helpful to have a place to check in every day.
A helpful quote that I got from another thread:
There is a great acronym for FEAR:
Future
Events
Appear
Real
Think I will keep this in mind today as I set up my new office...
