Dependence on God
Dependence on God
the 12/12 tells us the more dependent we are on God, the more independent we actually become. this is SO TRUE. with God staying between me and a drink everyday my life has progressed at such a rapid pace that i live as high a quality of life as i ever imagined. every day my responsibilities include showing up to work and showing up at AA. once these responsibilities are filled, i can do whatever i want. i eat whatever i want. if i see something i like, i can buy it. if i want to go out with friends, i can go. i wasnt free to do any of those things 19 months ago because alocholism prevented me from holding down a job. without income coming in, i was extrememly limited in what i could do. its a simple as this, when i am sober i can work. when im not sober, i cant. and what keeps me sober? God! and how does God keep me sober? through participating in AA, which keeps me out of my own way.
Chicago..a simple Amen! is in order...
Also..I am so darn grateful to not have the obsession...that in itself was a
pure hell of the mind..the worst part of my addictions. I have heard that angels
have no eyes..because they only "see" the will of God.
Enslaved in addiction..all I could see was another drink..another pill..another
toke on that weed pipe....another slot machine.
I am free....no longer in chains and a slave to alcohol....the drug of choice
and the most deadly for me...
Thanks for posting this, Chicago, and
Thanks be to God!!
