New person to forum
Hi,
I just wanted to sat hi to the forum as I am new. Am 27 and been drinking for 9 years now.
Two nights ago I was drinking more than usual. I have been noticing when I drink to a certain point I begin to get aggressive and blame people for all my problems when I know that am the one at fault.
Am just looking to straighten up and never touch alcohol again.
Thanks

Hi, and welcome to SR. You have found a wonderful site. Just take it one day at a time. Have you considered going to an AA meeting? They are full of people just like us, and understand us like no one else can.
Keep posting and let us know how you are.

hi sherbear5104,
Well I have considered AA. However as my country is very very small everyone will sort of know my buiness. It is know that the AA guy in my community doesn't keep the information confidential .
I really want to go but there is a good chance my reputation will be tarnished.
So I am planning to definitly take it one day at a time. I also have an anger problem that intensifies when I drink.
After there any medication people use to get off alco?

Sorry to hear that someone breaks confindentiality over there. AA is such a wonderful tool. I'm not too sure about meds, as I was more into the drugs. You may want to go over to the alcoholics forum here. There is a lot of information over there in the stickys up top.
Glad to hear that you will be taking it one day at a time. Sometimes I have to go one hour or even one minute at a time. It's important for me to remember that when I feel bad, or feel like I want to use, that those are just feelings, and they will pass. Keep posting!

Good to see ya here. Yeah I was concerned for a long time about my reputation being shot, but I knew that I shot most of it anyways
I figured that it wouldn't matter because going to meetings shows others that people can change and live a fullfilled life without the use of drugs. (alcohol is a drug)
Now I have over 14 months clean and now the community in which I live, are having faith not only in me but that the program does work. It is wonderful but somedays it isn't easy.
Hope you keep posting!

Hi Orion, and welcome.
It's a shame when confidentiality isn't honoured, but I wouldn't let that stop you from doing whatever it takes to get sober.
Whatever you decide, I hope that you keep posting. This is a wonderful site full of compassionate people who truly do care.
