Cool 20 days sober and finally losing some weight

Man o Man it took me forever it seems to lose just a few pounds. I exercise just about everyday, (2 miles) walk - jogging, eat under 1800 calories total per day, and now do not drink booze. I thought I was going to lose weight ASAP. NOT! It took a real long time to see any difference in weight at all. Still feeling tired and depressed at times but by being sober and clean I feel much better about myself. Life just feels better all the way around. It is hard to explain but so important in ones life.

Glad you are beginning to see some positive results of staying clean. Stick around, it can only get better.

Hey, I'm not even sure I belong on this site, and probably shouldn't dispense any advice at all, but I did quit smoking and start exercising and wanted the pounds to fall off right away, and was bummed when they didn't. Then I just thought, "one thing at a time. I'm just going to concentrate on not smoking and eating right and getting my butt in gear. I'm not going to obsess over weight instead of cigarettes."
For what it's worth...

And congratulations on 20 days!!!! That's so great.

Yes, one thing at a time. I agree. It is fairly difficult though when going to a bar or something and not participating is a few adult beverages. Or, when home all alone having a juice or diet coke instead of a few shots of tequila gold just to get kick it up a few notches.
