Thumbs up TOPIC: What Happened Then. Where Are You Now On Your Recovery Journey.

Hi my name is Sharon and I am an
alcoholic.

By the Grace of my HP and people
like you here in SR I havent had
a desire to pick up a drink since
8-11-90.

For that and you I am truely
grateful.

Year 1990...Month Feb.

30 yrs old

...Horrible accident at 2am. Hit
a concrete culvert ...hospitaled
10 days....numerous broken bones,
contusions, removal of puncture
spleen so i wouldnt bleed to death.

Aug. 1990

Progression of the disease of alcoholism
was rapid...tried to end my life.

Family intervention takes place.
28 day stay in rehab.
Recieved tools and knowledge of my
disease.
Set on the path of recovery.

July 2007

Age 48

Still a Memeber of Alcoholic Anonymous

Still have acceptance that I am powerless
over people places and things and desire to
stay sober one day at a time.

AA works if you work it.

By the Grace and Guidance of my HP
from Above. Remaining teachable
turning my will and life over to the
car of Him on a daily bases.

Continueing to share my Experiences,
strengths and hopes with those willing
to listen ....

AA works if you work it....

And that's the way it works for me.

Thanks for letting me share.

Hi, I'm 9 months clean and sober today. Life's better than I could have ever imagined 9 months ago. Basically, I was derelict in my home without hope of ever changing. Went to AA and the rest has been a miracle.
