Alcoholism and loss of sexual desire?
Hi everyone
I was just wondering if anyone else here, after a history of drinking for a period of years, has noticed a decrease in sexual desire and/or problems with the ability to achieve and maintain an erection (ED). If the answer is "yes" and you have already quit drinking for some time, did these symptoms resolve and if so, how long did it take?.
My second question is: has anyone here ever felt sleepy all day from taking Naltrexone?.
PS: I'm happily on my second day sober after hitting rock bottom. It was either quit or die for me.
Thanks again, Need4Change

Hi Need. I can't tell you much about the desire thing since I'm a girl but I hope you get an answer to that.
Are you in a programme? What is Ativan? Don't drink while you are taking it.
Good on you for stopping again. I am with you all the way. We are all on your side.

I was hopeing someone eles would chime in I guess you and me only ones who have this.I dont know if it was the alcohol or the pills for me.I had all your talking about. Bout a week clean and sober say, step up to bat agin.Everything seems fine to me now dont know if my wife will agree but it's much better sober.Naltrexone I dont have a clue might ask in substance abuse forum.I think you'll find being sober your sex drive and performance will improve if not be cured.

Thanks very much for the replies.
As a result of my withdrawal, I'm also experiencing emotional swings, depression, deep sadness, loneliness, talkativeness, etc. I'm surrounded by animals, friends and family and yet I feel like I'm trapped in a sad little detox bubble...or perhaps it's a champaign bubble. Blah...
