To me painkillers killed alot of the pain I had mentally in my life, Im a child of abuse and my cousin who was a big role model in my life killed himself at aged 24.
The cutting started and the painkillers helped me not cut. I didnt kno what addiction to kick first. And when I slit both my wrists in my doctors office and sat down in front of my therapist saying "its all over" they threw me in rehab so fast my head spun.
But in order to kick the cutting I took more drugs. Now I say I take 10 pills a day and I use the cold water method to take the pure drug with out the aspirin.
Im a mess as I said in the other thread I scared Ill cut again.

Oh yeah, those hot baths helped me too, can't believe I almost forgot! I'd get such chills going on and I only had access to a bathtub at one or two places I was kicking at. Jail certainly didn't have one LOL. Only a METAL shower with a push button for a few seconds of water. OH MY GOSH, did I mention I was grateful. Hang in there Numb. . .it will pass!!!

Hi Jen
Hi Jen
How are you??? Keep posting. You will get so much support here. I've just been through the withdrawals of painkiller addiction and posted almost everyday and it did help so much as I realised that I wasn't alone and that others did understand me.
Post your story, get all your feelings out in your postings.
And yes, hot baths do help. And drinking milky drinks when you can stomach something seems to help a bit too with sleeping better.
Also if you've been taking a lot of medication, it might be wise to see a doctor with assistance in your withdrawals. Just to be on the safe side.
But hang on in there. The worst will soon be over.
Best wishes

Welcome Jennifer. You have found a wonderful place to come. There are so many people here who can identify with your pain. I try to tell myself, this too shall pass. The feelings do go away. The pain will ease. Hang in there. One minute at a time if needed.
Hi Jennifer!
Welcome and definitely keep coming back! I was addicted to them as well, along with many other things, left my AH, detoxed myself at my parents, went to rehab, got out the end of May and have 98 days clean now! It does get better! Talk to your HP, go to meetings and do some step work, they all work together to help keep you clean! God Bless!

Hi bagger! Hello everyone
I am here checking in and I will be here all day with you guys. My night was rough was tossing and turning and sweating tons I couldn't sleep and when I did I had vivid nightmares.
When I shot up from my nightmare I wanted to use so bad but I sat there breathing in and out .. sipping on some milk. It was hard, I felt like I was crawling out of my skin like bugs were on me.
Now today the pain is horrible, and Im so tempted to use.
