Day 3 & feelin' fine
I just wanna say thanks again for all the support and prayers.
I think I may have this no smoking thing beat.
Idk.
Last night was kinda hard. Hubby and I went to the video store cause I needed to get out of the house. Was goin' kinda looney.
But this morning I woke up psyched.
I jumped into the shower, even though I don't work today, just to start my day right.
Put on the patch.
Uh oh. This one was kinda strong. Maybe it had something to do with where I placed it. Day 1, I put it on my right arm. Day 2, my left arm. This morning I put it on my right shoulder. Got my first cup of coffee since it all began. After 3 drinks I started to feel hot and sick. Went into the bathroom. Trigger City. lol
Gagged a minute. lol Sorry. Then laid back down. Wet hair and all.
After a few minutes I felt better. Threw the coffee out and got a Special K breakfast bar and yogurt. Plus a glass of grape juice. I love grape juice.
Now I'm feeling better. So I'm back to being psyched. lol
I know I can beat this thing. Just gotta keep busy.
I'm going to go to some public places today. lol
Get my hair cut. Go to Goodwill. Maybe walk around the park. Somethin'.
I just want you all to know that I love you all very much and I will be there for each of you when you decide to throw them out.
I feel pretty invigorated today. Hope the feeling last. lol
Love,
Linda
Linda You go girl. I have been fishing and walking and staying out of the kitchen. That is the only place that I smoked. Going to the docs tomorrow to try to find out where my anxiety is coming from. Want to rule out the physical causes. I can deal with it if I am healthy. Hugs and still sending those positive vibes your way. Marle

Just a note about getting sick on nicotine . . . Your story of the too strong patch reminded me.
. . . I live in an area of the country known for growing tobacco. An acquaintance used migrant workers to harvest tobacco in the past. She spoke about how the young workers got sick when they first worked in tobacco; she referred to the ailment as "nicotine sickness." They had to condition themselves to having the tobacco juice even on their skin.
Book, hurrah for you! Keep your positive attitude.

Linda,
Congrats! That's wonderful that you are quitting...go for it! My son (AS) just quit cold turkey a month ago and he feels so much better now. Remember to take some of the money spent on cigs and get yourself a nice reward!! btw...I love Goodwill shopping too!

I grew up in Kentucky. Better know as the tobacco state.
Where, when you hit puberty, you get a free carton to get ya started.

MJ- Thank ya.
Terri- thanks alot. no pressure. people keep tellin' me i'm their inspiration. uh, don't do that. lol {smile}
