Newbie here!
Hi,
I am new to this, but have decided it is time to stop my daily drinking habit. I have cut back from drinking every day to just a couple of times a week and am working on going completely abstinent. Summertime is a tough time in terms of being social so I thought I could use some support at this time and when searching the internet I came across this site. Look forward to reading and learning more about you all!

welcome to SR Crenny, glad you found us.
Summertime is a tough time to quit. Like you said it is a very social time and drinking increases for most. Not just us alkies.
You will find this is a good place to get started and find a large support system.

Welcome! You didn't say where you are located...in New Jersey, we have lots of meetings, and lots of AA activities...we're very fortunate.
Hopefully, you can check with your local AA groups and hit on some that get together for "extra-curricular activities" to keep you busy and take your mind off the summer-time booze fests.
Anytime of year can be difficult to quit, if you have too much time on your hands...so make lots of meetings, and keep yourself busy with healthy, out-door activities.
