Hello Everyone From A Nervous Newcomer
Hello Everyone From A Nervous Newcomer
I am brand new to this community. Wow I started searching online yesterday for support and was overwhelmed at all of the resources online. I am an alcoholic/cocaine addict and hoping to attend my second meeting this week. I attended an AA meeting a little over a year ago and it wasn't a very positive experience. I think I just picked the wrong night for my needs/expectations. I guess I finally see that I shouldn't have let that hold me back from trying another one. I just moved to a new city and found a NA & several AA meetings within walking distance of my apartment. I hope to be able to post again with some posittive words about my second meeting. Thanks everyone for having me here.

Welcome Daisy, glad you're here!
Keep trying different meetings. It took me a long time to find one that I felt the best at, but eventually I came full circle and ended up back at the first one I went to. I just had to experience a few different meetings to know which one suited me best.

Hi Daisy nice to meet you :0) the people here are fantastic and very supportive. I havent gone to a AA meeting yet well I did go to a couple last year but it didnt feel right maybe I should go to another one in another area? Hope to see you posting more often its comforting when you know that you can chat to people that have the same problem as you and know what you are going through

hey daisy, welcome! i moved out here from ft. collins, colorado. it's about an hour north of denver, in case you haven't ever been there. i'd say to give AA another shot, especially with an open mind... good luck! keep us posted!
Welcome to SR Daisy. I remember my first post at SR. I have made it a home outside of my program, and it helps to be able to post how I feel. Let us know how the meeting goes, if you would like.
I am glad I moved to Denver - it has so many options as far as where and when for meetings. I just need to push myself to get over my shyness and go.
