need friends...
Can anybody Pm me?
i really could use a friend -- or more than "a" -- now.
ive been messing with this alcohol problem for so long now...
i just would love someone to talk to, one on one....
i suffered thru a tremendous tragedy over 2 years ago and thats when i REALLY started drinking very heavily again after doing quite well for a few years..... i also at that time, lost all faith i had in people (and i had quite little to begin with).
One by one, i dropped out of things that had taken me so long to get into....a Bible study.... church..... (regularly versus sporadically).... prayer meetings.... seeing people in general..... night school.... (m back, but floundering again due to severe depression and yes, drinking...)...... even Net friends... i used to have a ton, then i stopped caring after the tragedy...now theres 2 people i talk to on here...... 2, from 20...................
all i do or have left is a full time job...................
anyone feeling extra helpful or like giving extra, feel free to PM me...

We all need friends, and none of us can get/stay sober alone. With all the things you mentioned, there was no reference to AA meetings. If you've tried everything else, maybe it's time you turned to AA. It certainly can't hurt, and may just be the answer you're looking for. At least you'll never feel alone in an AA meeting room, unless you choose to isolate yourself....and that would be a big mistake and a terrible waste of an opportunity to make some sober new friends.

Overcomer..
I would like to be your friend and support you as well..
However..I do not PM many folks..as there have been some problems in
the recent past with PM's and such..
I would love to talk with you on the open...just say whatever is on your heart....
Your posts will help others with like experiences.
We've all been there in one way or another..this is the strength of the Forums.

Got here a little late today. Sorry your having a stressful time of it.
The people who mentioned AA have a good point. Isolation can be a dangerous thing.
Using this forum helps a lot, but for me, at least, I find a lot of advantages in the face-to-face conversation before and after a meeting.
At the very least, you can have a cup of coffee there. Do you have a sponsor, or at least do you know a few people in the program you could call on?
My best to you, my friend.
