Ex-agf is doing good. . .
Well, she made it into an outpatient program at Cross Roads. She has a group session with other recovering addicts each morning at 7 for an hour then she gets an hour a day with a psychiatrist. She's helping her mom with her church ministry on Saturdays. It appears she's doing very well and she sounds more positive and alert. Last night was one of the first times I've ever heard her take responsibility for her actions and the pain she knows she's caused her loved ones. And se asked if I would go with her to "family" therapy next Monday to discuss her recovery. She calls me like 3-4 times a day EVERY DAY. . .LOL. I don't know what that's about but she says I give her support and inspiration. I'm glad to be something positive in her life.
I'm feeling optimistic for the first time. It FEELS different this time. I think that maybe she's really ready to get her life together. It's only been two weeks but I can already see a major difference in her. I suppose all I can do is keep praying for her. I mean she's taking her psychiatric medication to help keep her nerves calm and depression at bay. She hasn't had a drink since rehab. She's made all her group and therapy sessions. The future looks bright. . .Here's to hoping
