A Tragedy in My Al Anon Family
Please keep a young mother in my Al Anon group in your prayers. I just found out tonight that her husband, who was a struggling addict, committed suicide this afternoon. He leaves a wife and a 4 year old son. He had attended some of our Al Anon meetings as he has alcoholics in his family. I loved it when he came for he was so genuine and taught us so much with his comments. I know he was trying, trying so very hard to get a handle on his addiction.
In the midst of this sadness I find myself grateful, though, for I know his wife and mother have a program on which they can rely...a program and recovery friends who will be there for them, to love them through this.
Please pray for them.
Thank you,
Hangin' In

My prayers go out also for this man and all who loved him.
It breaks my heart each time I hear that an addict dies in their disease. Such a waste and such sadness for those they leave behind.
He rests with God today and suffers no more.
Hugs

Oh my, that is terrible. I find my heart just hurting so when I hear that another human could not drag themselves out of the terrible depths of addiction or depression and chose to take their own life. I can't imagine being in that much mental pain.
