I know both programs work, this has been proven. I don't understand HOW they work? Can anyone help me? Is it the feeling of community, accountability?

it works if you work it.working it you will understand how it works.it is a proven method.i am a firm beliver if you do not have & keep a program in your life you can not stay clean & with out a program the codependent can not stay sane & make good decisions in their life. keep coming back.

For me it works by replacing the negative thinking surrounding the addict or Alcoholic with positive thinking about myself and taking care of myself. This is accomplished by having given me the knowledge that a higher power (God for some, Nature, Universal life etc. for others ) will take care of those things which I cannot handle.
