hello friends AD doing well

It has been more than a month since my daughter has come home. I know, I know... I vowed to never let this happen. But... things can change. She put herself on methadone, and came home in hopes of getting into a rehab to detox. A funny thing happened along the way.

She was not allowed to leave the state because of probation. So, instead she has been slowly lowered week by week. She has gone to a meeting every single day for over 30 days. She is traveling to probation via bus and train. She looks and sounds like my old daughter.

Today she went to the meeting early to volunteer for service.

Believe me, I had no expectations for this kid... but, things can change.

Ps

PS....
I have been doubling and tripling up meetings as well, as well as going to therapy. I working hard at not giving advice, and staying out of her recovery.... I seem to be changing as well...
I was always one to hold things in, now I am outspoken... and sometimes get in trouble for it...lol Oh well, its just a part of growing

This is indeed good news, Jeep, and it sounds like you both have some pretty good recovery happening.

We never know when the miracle may happen, and every day she is clean is a miracle, so let's enjoy the sunshine of today and let tomorrow unfold however it may.

Hugs

Your post almost made me cry. I am so happy for you. recovery seems so far away sometimes for my son. Your daughter has chosen the wiser path. Good luck.
